Introduction
Our website is powered by WordPress. To safeguard data and general site security, we maintain the website with regular updates to the latest plugins and security features. To ensure compliance with GDPR regulations, we will require active ‘opt-in’ e.g. for receiving electronic communications from iEMSs through the website or email list servers.
What information we collect and why we collect it
Cookies
By default, WordPress uses cookies to manage logged-in user sessions and authentication. A user with an account may choose to allow the site to “remember me” to enable faster login on return to the site. The site also uses cookies to remember a user’s details if they fill out any forms on the website. Cookies may also store information about which pages a user has visited on the website. On first visit to the website every visitor will be shown a notice to indicate their consent to the use of cookies on the site.
Embedded content from other websites
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Data collected to ensure security
We use the Wordfence security plugin to tighten the security on our site and prevent it from being hacked. They collect the IP addresses of iEMSs website visitors and other non-personally identifiable information. Wordfence is owned by Defiant and is GDPR compliant. For any updates on their Privacy Policy you should visit the Wordfence Privacy Policy and the Defiant Privacy Policy.
Data collected to manage your membership
At checkout, we will collect your name, email address, username, and password. This information is used to setup your account for our site. If you are redirected to an offsite payment gateway to complete your payment, we may store this information in a temporary session variable to setup your account when you return to our site.
The payment gateway may also store information required to process your payment.
We store information about your membership level and membership expiry date and the website will send you emails regarding renewal of your membership when appropriate.
Once you have joined iEMSs and have an account on our website, we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. You can choose whether to share your profile in the Member directory. Only logged-in users can access and view member profiles.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Notification of changes to our policies
If any policies related to use of the website or pertaining stored personal data are planned, all registered users will be notified through email prior to these changes being implemented. In addition, a post on the website will alert visitors of these changes.
